Mr Mark Snell, the current Headmaster of Wetherby School, will be joining Eaton House Belgravia as Headmaster from September, 2023.

He brings with him a strong understanding of London schools and their families, and an established track record in preparing boys for 7+ and 8+ examinations. He will be able to bring this formidable expertise to Eaton House Belgravia, building on the success of the outgoing Headmaster, Mr Huw May.

We are delighted to be welcoming Mr Snell back to Eaton House Schools. He was Head of Mathematics at Eaton House The Manor in 1994, before moving to teach at Westminster Under and King’s College Junior School. He initially joined Wetherby School as Deputy Head, before taking on the Headship in 2008. As we celebrate our 125th year, we look forward to Mr Snell taking Eaton House Belgravia into the next phase of its history.

Eaton House Belgravia is a local institution, founded in 1897. Many famous names have passed through its ranks, from Sir Laurence Olivier and Eddie Redmayne to Philip Pullman and Bear Grylls. It has come to be known as an academically excellent school of the first rank, fizzing with life and originality. It is a place where every boy is treated as an individual, supported and cared for, allowing him to achieve his maximum potential. Mr Snell is committed to all of Eaton House Belgravia’s values, and is the perfect choice to take on the leadership of Eaton House Belgravia.

Mr May is handing the baton to Mr Snell after ten wonderful years. He joined the schools in 2013 as Headmaster of Eaton House The Manor Pre-Prep School, before taking on the Headships of Eaton House The Vale and Eaton House Belgravia in 2017. Much loved by parents and colleagues, Mr May’s humour and charm, and his passion for getting the very best out of every child, has been evident throughout his tenure. His contributions to the schools over the last decade have been significant. The whole Eaton House community is united in thanking him for all he has achieved in this time.
