{"id":6174,"date":"2026-06-15T10:41:36","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T09:41:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eatonhouseschools.com\/clapham\/?p=6174"},"modified":"2026-06-15T10:41:36","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T09:41:36","slug":"meet-our-scholars-monty-r","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eatonhouseschools.com\/clapham\/2026\/06\/15\/meet-our-scholars-monty-r\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet Our Scholars: Monty R."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018<strong>Specialist Teaching Helped My Scholarship Win\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monty R. is thrilled to be going to Whitgift, although he was honoured to be offered an Academic Scholarship to Fidelis College, although he opted for Whitgift School in the end.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve his scholarship, he did the 13+ entrance paper where he scored highly, and then had to do an interview and a presentation on Drama, his favourite subject.<\/p>\n<p>He feels that the specialist teaching available at Eaton House The Manor really helped with his scholarship win and that his training in Drama was key, as he wants to be an actor and go to Drama School one day.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Miss Doyle (Head of Drama) helped me to connect with the audience as I love to make people laugh,\u2019 he says. \u2018She taught me other things too,\u2019 he laughs \u2018as she is really tough on manners!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Miss Doyle can devote her time to really helping all the students in her care progress with Drama, he feels. \u2018It\u2019s changed me. I joined in Year 5, age 10. I don\u2019t know how but I feel different from having joined Eaton House. I think it has boosted my confidence.
