Ted’s 2023 Comes To An End!

Posted: 4th January 2024

Towards the end of the 2023 Autumn Term, we hosted a VIB, our Eaton House mascot, Ted. As the year drew to a close, Ted sampled all the delights of Christmas at Belgravia!

On his first day at Eaton House Belgravia, Year 1 took Ted to the park for outdoor learning. Ted and the boys got in plenty of exercise running around and playing with bubbles before Miss Pooja taught them how to make origami boats. In the afternoon, Ted helped some of the prep boys to finish their marble run designs ready for the big race. Mr Brendan gave the winning team 20 house points for their hard work.

The next day music and maths took centre stage for Ted. Miss Georgie and the KGs taught him how to play real life jingle bells as they practiced their song for the carol concert. He also absolutely loved taking part in their stormy sound making. Later on, Ted popped into Year 2’s classroom where they were learning all about fractions. In what was a challenging class, Ted was awarded a house point by Miss Chloe for helping his friend Leo out in true Eaton House fashion.

Ted’s next day started in the most festive way as he posted his letter to Santa in the EHB Lapland postcode. Ted was a very good bear in 2023 so received his Paw Patrol plane, Harry Potter Lego and Honey on Christmas Day. Later that day, Ted had lunch with the Prep boys, discussing their plans for the Christmas break, before joining the Year 3s in the afternoon for an exciting programming lesson in ICT.

Ted’s action packed time at Eaton House Belgravia continued as he enjoyed a very creative day at school. He joined Year 3 in the art room to help them with their Young Artist exhibition entries in the morning and was impressed with the talent on shows from the boys. In the afternoon, the KG boys invited Ted in for their class story time – the boys picked ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ especially for Ted!

Before he knew it, Ted’s last day at Eaton House Belgravia was upon him. To start the day he popped into a Prep English lesson for a speed course in storytelling. Mr James taught Ted and the boys how to master metaphors and imagery inspired by the pictures he gave us. The afternoon brought EHB’s annual carol service – and what a show it was! The boys blew Ted away with their Christmas songs and brave readings.

School may have been out for Christmas but Ted still had time for some festive fun at Eaton House. He ventured to Eaton House The Manor for Christmas Holiday Camp and what a week it was. Between playing sports, going on a bear hunt and some festive baking, Ted, and the boys and girls, were treated to some magical Christmassy activities, including meeting two beautiful reindeer and some exceptional ice skating!

And that was that for Ted’s 2023. He hopes everyone had a lovely holiday and a happy new year!
