The Perfect Start to School Life

At Eaton House The Manor Boys’ School we offer a traditional, yet innovative, inclusive and warm education for boys aged 4-13, in a 1.5 acre site opposite leafy Clapham Common. Rated ‘Excellent’ in our last ISI report, we provide a gold standard of wellbeing. Our youngest boys enter the Reception Pre-Prep under Headmaster Mr David Wingfield, and move to the Prep at age 8 under Headmistress and Principal of Eaton House Schools and Headmistress, Mrs Sarah Segrave. We are proud that both schools are vibrant and happy, and the Prep is a feeder to top schools like Eton, Westminster and St Paul’s. Every boy is known and his talents maximised and the move from Pre-Prep to Prep is planned to be seamless.

Why Choose Eaton House The Manor?

  • Boys join Reception at 4+ from the co-educational Nursery and other nurseries. There they find a warm, welcoming school where all the learning is aimed at boys – active and fun. Staff are kind and encouraging and build confidence from the first. Boys join our Nursery at 2+.
  • We focus on every aspect of the boys’ academic progress and wellbeing, offering a curriculum adjusted to fit boys’ developmental stages and interests. The youngest boys are ambitiously educated in the Pre-Prep, building a strong foundation for the Prep.
  • From the Prep School, we have sent generations of boys to Westminster, Eton, St Paul’s, Dulwich College, many with scholarships, due to our exceptional teaching staff. In 2024, boys won 12 Scholarships and Awards.
  • Our philosophy is that every boy is an individual, and is encouraged to meet his personal goals. He is part of a welcoming community that binds together pupils, teachers and parents, with many shared events.
  • Our site, based around a grand Georgian manor house, has every facility needed for boys to excel, with music, science and art labs and a state-of the-art theatre. Boys start in Reception at 4+ in the light, spacious and recently refurbished Pre-Prep School.
  • The younger boys try many sports, from tag rugby to running. The older boys often reach national finals and win tournaments. Specialist sports staff nurture healthy competition and good sportsmanship.
  • Theatre and Music are enjoyed to a very high standard, and the youngest boys often choose to play an instrument. There are many opportunities to act and play music together from Reception and the boys love it!
  • Wraparound care is offered to 6.30pm from Reception with a home-from-home feel, and there are plenty of after-school clubs on offer. In the Prep, over 40 after-school clubs stretch and challenge the boys.
  • Pastoral care is the cornerstone of school life at EHTM. A dedicated Head of Wellbeing, form tutors and supportive House system make it a place where boys feel safe and supported.
  • Headmistress Mrs Sarah Segrave believes that: ‘A school is a place where children grow, guided by teachers who are determined that they succeed and are happy.’ We want parents to feel that if their sons come to us they will be cared for and happy from the very first day.

FAQs

Transition to Boys’ Pre-prep: Do Most Children Go to the KG?

Yes, seeing families arrive in the nursery and go right through the school creates a wonderful atmosphere. We get to know the children often before they start and we can watch them progress through the school. Parents and KG teachers always comment on how smooth the transition is for the children who come to our nursery. The positives of being on one site are hugely beneficial.

Can we apply for both EHB and EHTM?

Yes. We will request parent’s preference before offers are made. If there is availability spaces can usually be transferred between schools but this is at the discretion of the Headteachers.

When are formal offers made?

Formal offers are made around 12 months before entry to Eaton House The Manor.
