A Year of Prep Sport in Review

Posted: 12th February 2026

Eaton House The Manor is always reviewed by Tatler, and when they asked us how sports at Eaton House had gone in the last year, Dan Craig at the Prep was able to recount some of our most wonderful victories that we would like to share with you.

Has it been a successful year?

It has been another hugely successful year on the sports fields for Eaton House Prep.

It has been a tremendous year of competition, development and achievement across the programme, with the boys consistently performing at a very high level while representing the school with pride and excellent sportsmanship.

How did the footballers perform?

Football was a real highlight. Tournament victories in both the Thomas’s and Alleyns 5-a-side events showcased the squads’ quality and teamwork, while outstanding national runs saw us reach the semi-finals of both the IAPS and ISFA competitions – a superb achievement.

How about Cross Country?

In cross country, the boys produced a string of dominant performances throughout the year. Victories at Epsom College, Danes Hill, Alleyns, Dukes Schools and Falkner House reflected the commitment to training and the resilience shown in every race.

Was Rugby a success?

The rugby season also delivered silverware, with a fantastic triumph at the Arnold House 12s tournament in both the “A” and “B” competition. The physicality, determination and unity on display were brilliant to watch.

In Cricket, we went for the top, didn’t we?

Our cricketers battled their way to the Surrey Cup semi-finals, demonstrating great skill and composure across a memorable campaign.

How did Track and Field athletes perform?

On the track and in the field, athletics continued to go from strength to strength. We achieved a top five finish at the IAPS Athletics meeting, combined with victory at the South London Prep Schools Championships, capped an excellent season. Across every sport, the boys’ hard work, coachability and desire to improve have been clear to see. They should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved this year.
